A popular destination for day trips and longer sojourns, Whitehaven Beach is located in the Whitehaven Islands and Airlie Beach Regoin. The beach is almost 6km long and consists of a very fine dazzling White sand that is 98% pure Silica!. Whitehaven Beach also is blessed with a pristine five-plus-mile strip of fine white sand fronted by crystalline waters and framed by tropical rain forests.

Search Facilities

Today lesson ended late, there's alot to do. I learn that there were different kinds of search facilities such as search engine, meta engine and also subject directory. I am going to use this 3 search facilities to do my research.

Search Engine - Google
Meta Engine - Metacrawler
Subject Directory - Galaxy

Search keyword used - violence, youth, impact, 'AND'

After my research, i concluded that Google was the best as it showed me all the relevant information/link i needed, based on the keyword i used and also it only took me a while to finish my research. Unlike Google, Metacrawler and Galaxy has no idea of what i am looking for, and without a database of it own, the information they give was not relevant to my search keyword.

Personal VS. Organisation

For today UIR lesson, i learnt to differentiate the difference between a personal website from a organisation website. There are some examples of a personal and organisation website.

Whereas, organisation website is a collection of Web pages, images, videos or other digital assets that is hosted on one or more web servers, usually accessible via the Internet. Organisation web page is a document, typically written in HTML, that is almost always accessible via HTTP, a protocol that transfers information from the Web server to display in the user's Web browser.

Research Topic

Today's post i'll be covering this topic "Discuss the impact of online gaming on youths".

First i'll touch on the negative impact of online gaming on youth. Addictive gaming is one of the worst thing that can happen to the youth. Online gaming addiction can be defined as a compulsive behaviour which interferes with normal living and causes severe stress on family, friends, loved ones, and one's school or work environment.

Those who are addicted to gaming spend most of their time in front of the computer. It give them less time for other more meaningful activities. And also long hours of playing is bad for the player's eyesight and health as they tend to skip meal or have unregular meal.

hi, this is weijie here making a blog for my CDS the very first time

I'm currently pursuing a diploma in Information Technology, being in year3 sem1, i hope that i can finish my studies without going to year4.

Being a big spender, i have to work in order to support myself. Thus, i alway look forward to the end of the month, that's when my pay usually come in. Currently, i'm working as a laptop promoter. so if u need a laptop do come look for me.

To me, music is my biggest area of interest. I used to play basketball very oftenly, but now just once in a while. Other things like stock, pool and strategic game also interest me. And also i like to hang out with my friends.

Anyway, for today UIR class, i have learned how to go about creating a blog. Very fun and interesting. I'm glad that i have choose this UIR for my CDS.
